January's guest speaker will be Steven Marshall, Youth & Family Minister at Vale Christian Church.Steven coordinates Night to Shine, which is coming up in February.

Night to Shine is a worldwide special event created by the Tim Tebow Foundation that celebrates people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The event takes place annually on the Friday before Valentine's Day, Friday, February 13th this will be Vale Christian Church second year as  one of the Pacific Northwest locations! NTS offers a prom-like experience for individuals aged 14 and older.

During Night to Shine, participants are treated like royalty, with volunteers providing red carpet experiences, hair and makeup services, formal attire, and a night of dancing, entertainment, and companionship. The event is designed to celebrate the beauty and worth of each participant, providing a fun and inclusive environment where they can enjoy themselves and feel valued.

Night to Shine has grown significantly since its inception in 2015, and it has been hosted in 50 countries around the world, often with the support and collaboration of local churches and organizations. The event not only enriches the lives of those with disabilities but also fosters community engagement and awareness around the importance of inclusion and acceptance.

 During such an event, participants will enjoy various activities, including:

Dancing: A dance floor with a DJ as well as Live Music where attendees can dance and have fun.

Socializing: Opportunities to meet new friends and connect with peers in a supportive environment.

Activities: games, photo booth, arts and crafts stations, Limo Rides, And other activities to engage attendees.

Food and Refreshments: Amazing snacks, drinks, and a catered meal will be available for caregivers.

Themed Decorations: Our venue VCC will be decorated according to our NTS theme to create a celebratory atmosphere.

Participants receive a crown as an image Bearer of Christ, and a gift bag of Swag building and promoting self-esteem.

Staff and volunteers are needed and will be present to ensure that everyone feels welcome and, included, provide support as needed.

The goal is that this event will be incredibly meaningful for individuals with special needs, offering them a chance to enjoy a memorable night in a safe and inclusive setting.
